The Baltimore City Red Line Project Team extends its congratulations to Ralign Wells, appointed on December 2nd to serve as the new head of the Maryland Transit Administration.

We know Ralign Wells to be a committed, passionate and hard-working friend of transit. He grew-up in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Baltimore (one of the communities on the planned Red Line route), beginning his career as a part-time bus driver at the age of 21, and working his way through the ranks to his most recent

role as Deputy Administrator for Operations. Mr. Wells will now take the steering wheel of the statewide agency at a time when transit is gaining national prominence. We look forward to working with him to complete the design of the Red Line and the start of its construction in late 2012. We will work hand-in-hand with Ralign to continue delivering on the promises of the Red Line Community Compact.
